For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: Stayed on beach side. Refurbished from hurricane damage, nice flat concrete pads, nice baths/showers, but cramped and bereft of trees and vegetation, lacking appeal despite being right on beach. Site w/ hookups listed as $30, but we also had to pay a one-time TX state park pass, entry fee, taxes and “shipping& handling” charge (!!)bringing total over $110! Not worth it.

For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: Texas state parks did great on this one. Revamped after being closed for years due to hurricane damage, everything is new. Love stopping here. Sites with elec & water, or dry camping at half the rate. Also tent sites. Did not use facilities so no comment. Only negative for me was the curb without ramp at dump station hard to use with tote. Not many obstructions so my Starlink worked great. Visible & Cricket worked fine. Did not bother testing Verizon nor T-Mobile 5G Great friendly staff.

Dunglican

For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: The beach side campground is completely closed for renovation due to damage from Hurricane Harvey. Renovations started in September 2019 and are expected to take two years. Camping on the bayside is open.

For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: Great level sites. A little close to road but closeness to beach is worth it. Bathrooms were clean and lots of hot water. They seem pretty new definitely will come back here

Rvlifeforme

For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: The rv sites are small, at least on the beach side. We are in the middle grouping of sites. The only toilet is a porta potty. The beach is nice. The campsite is $25/night with electricity and water. There is a dump station. They fail to tell you that there is a $5/person/day aditional park entrance charge.

We preferred the county Dellenera park up the road. $41 full hookups and wifi.

For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: Typical state park ... no sewer. But it's about location! Beautiful sunrises and sets on the Gulf beach... great base camp! Stayed in a motorhome and towing...

Brushmonkey

For Beachside - Galveston Island State Park: We hauled butt down there ahead of a ice storm. Had a great time. Stayed on the beach side. It's a bit out of town, which is nice so you don't get much crowding on the beach. Spent a lot of time on the bay side walking the miles of trails through the salt marshes.

FYI. The Spot ( that's it's name) had great burgers and fried shrimp, right on the sea wall
