For By The River RV Campground: OK, we stay here because of LOCATION and PRICE. This is a Passport America Park and as such we take advantage of the 1/2 price discount. We do not use any of the amenities, restrooms, pools, showers, wifi, etc and do not have a clue if they even have any. What they have is location and price, which is what we are looking for and expecting. We stay there around a week each summer. It is on the river, deer are plentiful, and you are close to town/Kerrville. Are there more upscale RV Resorts in Kerrville, yes. But you will pay much more for those places. This place meets my needs and expectations. The restaurant across from the office has live music on Friday nights and that is a hopping place.

For By The River RV Campground: I tent-camped here for one night while out on a solo bike tour of the Hill Country. The tent sites are primitive and located across the bridge, away from the RVs. There is a port-o-potty in the campground in addition to the main bathrooms located near the entrance to the park. The main bathrooms have showers with plenty of hot water and were very clean. The tent camping sites are very pretty. I had a quiet and peaceful stay here and would definitely return. The price for my one-night primitive camping stay was $24.

For By The River RV Campground: Very nice location near a beautiful river. Friendly staff with decent free internet. Sites are not all level but roomy compared to some parks. Would stay again but for longer stays I would want a riverfront site.

For By The River RV Campground: Pros: beautiful location on the river; river adjacent sites have mature trees; reasonable pricing; nicely located for Hill Country TX.
Cons: all of the sites are dirt/grass with some evidence of gravel from previous times; 2nd row in sites, including all pull thrus aren't very pretty; you'll probably need to use your levelers; cable reception is bad.
Other info: internet is free, runs about 4mps, so not bad. But it cuts out occasionally and there seems to be some replacement website attempt for google. Just use a different search engine and don't do anything important like banking.
I used PA club discount and stayed 5 nights adjacent to the river. $144
