For Hickory Creek: Beautiful park. Had to change sites after first night because our bathhouse was closed for maintenance. Staff was agreeable to us moving to another area. We settled in site 120. On an incline but we are camping in a Roadtrek Class B and we’re able to pull all the way to back of pad and get fairly level. Showers were dated but had plenty of hot water and regular knobs (not push button). Bench but no hook in shower house. Close to about anything you want to see/do in Dallas area. Lots of shade and trees. All picnic tables looked new (metal). No problems with check in. Stayed 3 nights in February 2023.

For Hickory Creek: Pristine COE park with competent staff, upgraded facilities and location near ... everything? This place is a crown jewel for the Corps of Engineers. Shopping, restaurants and every service imaginable are nearby. For those who would penalize a Corps park for not having sewer at the site, there are more than enough private parks where, parked like a sardine, and for easily twice the price; you can get that. Hickory Creek is a 10.

For Hickory Creek: Beautiful campground with great views of the lake. Restroom buildings are modern but closed for Covid. Lots of sites are lakeside.

Full Timing

For Hickory Creek: This is a nice park, extremely busy on weekends. We have been here a number of times and have enjoyed it. Do not take site 11, it was the only site available, now we know why!! It is a pull through, very close to the road. It is a pass through to the lake! It should be a common area! We had 6/8 boys running between our trailer and picnic table all weekend. The adults taking kayaks to the lake, walking 2 feet behind our rig. Tons and tons of walk through!!

For Hickory Creek: Beautiful sites, lovely views. Quiet but busy on weekends. Love the heated bathrooms in Winter but could do with regular cleanings. All in all a pleasant stay but 7am - 11pm access only, really impacted our ability to move around.

For Hickory Creek: I agree with the other reviews. Would be 5 stars if sites had full hook up. We will be coming back as it is close and offers quick country feel get-a-way to in the city.
