For Lockhart State Park: Spent three days for a quick get away. Texas has too few parks for the demand, so schedule well ahead of time. Nice 9 hole golf course with at least one par 5 hole. Hiking trails well marked and have signs for local plants. Sites 11 and 12 next to creek are far from level, unsafe for slide outs. Hopefully swimming pool will open this season.

For Lockhart State Park: December 2020: Very nice stay here. Although it only has 10 Full Hookup sites, each comes with a concrete pad, a roofed shelter, a fire pit and a separate BBQ Smoker. Plus each site has a lot of room. Electric is brand new. No WiFi.

For Lockhart State Park: A very nice park. We stayed for a week towards the end of January. There were some pretty cold nights but it warmed up during the day. Stayed in the full hookup area(#7) with a view of the golf course. Took a road to San Marcos early in the week and did some local browsing near the town square in Lockhart. They have a great Walmart for all your needs and the local restaurants are really good and inexpensive. Even played a round of golf. Would definitely come back. Life is Good!

For Lockhart State Park: This was a great find. Stayed here almost two weeks in 01/2018. Played my first round of golf and had a great time exploring the place on cart and on foot. Lots of trails and a nice creek running through the whole place that you can fish. Great playground for the kids. Quiet, but close to Lockhart which has a Walmart and a fantastic Mexican place called Guadalajara. Also a half dozen famous BBQ places. Relatively close to New Braunfels, Seguin and Austin. We came back and spent a week in 11/2018. The first time we had a full-hookup spot near the fairway and it was great. Level spacious paved sites. The second time we stayed in the more economical water/electric area. This was right along the river. The sites vary greatly in size but are much more secluded. All have creek access. We snagged #1 which was huge. It took some leveling but otherwise was fantastic. The one downside has been cell service. Reception was great (4-5) bars but the towers were overloaded, limiting speed the first time to 1-2Mbps down. The second time Verizon remained this way, but AT&T appeared to have improved its capacity with 10+Mnps.

For Lockhart State Park: Very nice campground for tent people. Even though, they don't have primitive sites, by there are a lot of space to pitch a tent. All sites equipped with electricity and drinkable water. Only one shower cabin. $20 a night plus entrance fee $3 if you don't have a Texas parks pass. Sites are next to a creek with abundance of mature oak trees.

Marit

For Lockhart State Park: Beautiful campground, in a park. Convenient to Lockhart. Restrooms (2) and shower (1) smelled bad and could have been cleaner. There was a little roof over the picknick bench, which was great since it had rained in the night. Loved the smokers at each site instead of the regular bbqs.
When we entered the park there was a sign saying they were full. We ignored it, went and had a look and talked to the camp host and turned out there were plenty sites available.
