Bigdon

For Marathon Motel and RV Park: Not a bad campground quite except for the trains that go through every hour or so.. $40 for full hookups, fairly level sites. Good gravel sites. I just can’t get pass the trains..

For Marathon Motel and RV Park: Nice park for an overnight we are 73 ft so we stayed in the back spots. Couple of long term eta who could clean up there spot a little. The park has really nice court yard with fire place that looks like it could be fun. Walked to town to explore and only heard one train. Only plugged into power and was good. Easy on off the highway

Dave

For Marathon Motel and RV Park: This is a hidden gem! Sites are gravel and level. Best WiFi we’ve experienced in an RV park! This has a Dark Sky park with two local astronomers who roll out their telescopes in the evenings depending on weather. All sites are full hookup. The Brick Vault BBQ & Brewery is a must place to eat and enjoy a beverage. French Grocery has a variety of organic selections.

Grammy

For Marathon Motel and RV Park: We have been doing one night stays at this place for years, passing through on US 90 to other destinations. This time we spent a couple of nights and are so glad we did. The biggest negative most people have is the proximity to the railroad tracks, but as we are fans of trains this is a plus for us! Maybe four or five a day (a couple at night) but they are a known quantity so are not a bother. The campground itself is gravel, our site was level, the the hookups have been updated, there is a lovely little pond, the courtyard is a lush surprise in the desert, there is quite a bit of updating and maintenance going on which leads me to believe the owners are in it for the long haul! We walked into Marathon for breakfast and wandered around a bit, some nice galleries and shops, and don’t miss the French Market, off the main drag a block, but will have everything you need! We had dinner at the Gage Hotel’s 12 Gage Restaurant after cocktails in the White Buffalo Bar. Busy, even on a Tuesday in mid May. Amazing. We only found out about the Gardens of the Gage Hotel after we left and were told they were a treat to walk around, just across the tracks from the hotel. Oh well, next visit!

Nadeau Andre

For Marathon Motel and RV Park: Very clean, nice place for rv and very clean and nice cabin. Perfect to be close to the Big Bend national park. Better to eaut in your rv, restaurant at the hotel close to the rv park is very expensive same for the grocery. Fuel is at 3.79 per gallon!

Workingdog

For Marathon Motel and RV Park: Clean little park with good electricity and WiFi. Trains run through town just across the highway but neither highway or train traffic became a night time problem. We used the park while we visited Big Bend National Park. While staying we had an issue with a macerator toilet and got excellent service from Big Bend RV Parts and Service.
