For IB Magee Beach Park: What a great little campground! We've been coming here for a month most winters since 1990, when it was a funky little county park/ CG. As noted in last year's (2022) reviews, the park has been completely rebuilt since being wiped out in a 2017 hurricane and is outstanding, as well as very reasonable for weekly rentals (about$210). Showers, restrooms, and laundry are still not operational, but the rates will go up when they are. Lovely pond in the park that has lots of birds in/around it and the CG is right on the beach, with pay showers to rinse off the salt water if you swim. Dogs are welcome an there are large, well-spaced campsites; no trees yet, but they aren't needed for shade because of the nearly continuous light sea- or land-breezes. Lots of mosquitoes on the quieter wind days, but that's true of the entire Texas coast. This CG has our highest recommendation!

For IB Magee Beach Park: Absolutely loved the stay. The walk to the beach is short and the whole reason comes to the coast was to soak up the sun and feel the sand under my feet.

Victoria

For IB Magee Beach Park: This county park was recently rebuilt after Hurricane Harvey. The service building is still in stage of completion . The sites are all concrete, level, long with new FHU’s. Very nice. It is a very short walk to the water and lots of beach walking. Close to many restaurants, shops, etc. overall, a great place!

For IB Magee Beach Park: Shower and restrooms were not yet rebuilt but sites have been. Very nice, concrete pad sites, wide and long, very easy to back into. A few are pull through. Very easy walk to the beach. Fu hookups at each site, 30a & 50a plug-ins at each. Very happy, love the place. Rates now in mid $30s. Really missed this site after Hurricane Harvey, glad it's back. Have been staying there for about 15 years.

Larry Ganger

For IB Magee Beach Park: Staff is friendly. Office is in a portable office trailer due to unrepaired storm damage. No restrooms or showers. All sites have level concrete pads. But no picnic tables at sites. A discount is given for the lack of facilities. Nightly fee is still $37 plus $3 convenience fee if paid by credit card. Preferred travel in the area is by golf carts which are available in town for rent.

Cindy

For IB Magee Beach Park: This County Park was damaged in Hurricane Harvey & 4 million was allocated to rebuild. It is still not totally rebuilt yet the house that holds the office and other facilities is still under construction. There is a new laundromat five minutes in town so it is not a problem not having a facility on site. You are literally 100 yards from the beach and we love hearing the waves from our RV. Concrete Pad sites are really big and spaced out. There are stickers in the grassy sand so be aware of that. Wish we made our reservations longer than a month this is a great find!

KM

For IB Magee Beach Park: This campground recently reopened after hurricane damage. It is very close to the beach and the jetty. Sites are large—very long driveways with a concrete pad for your chairs, etc. It was perfectly level. The sites have water, electricity, and sewer. We paid $37/night but they said prices would be going up to $50 in the near future. There are no shade structures or picnic tables or other amenities (yet?)
