For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: LOUD airboats from 6am, as previously mentioned in comments. Bayfront site 008 was surrounded with fishing enthusiasts that use your site frontage from which to cast. Aesthetically, this campground is not appealing with concrete picnic pavilions. Also, 4x4 trucks speed thru campsite to get to the pier. UGH!

For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: Watch out if you have a large rig. Not big rig friendly. The Bayfront loop is the only spots that can accommodate taller and larger rigs. We originally booked in Wooded area online, but when we got to the spot, it appeared only our Jeep would fit. So, luckily, we moved to Bayfront spot. The 50 amp service was not putting out enough voltage for our surgeguard, so we used 30 amp. Worked fine. Moved spots the next day, and rangers were very accommodating. It was a nice visit, with a constant wind. No issues. Nice park.

SLAMMER

For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: Great views on the Bay side sites! Stayed in #005 there is a sea wall so no beach walking. But it’s a nice walk along waters edge and down to a nice fishing pier. There are 2 sets of stairs from pier you can access water and explore at low tide. 3rd stairway always under water. Walked the inner Wooded camp site area and found it to be very private as most sites seemed to be surrounded by brush and trees. If you can’t get bay sites this would be a nice private setting. Although last year there were a lot of mosquitoes in this area. We didn’t find them to be an issue this year on our walks. My only knock is the Air Boats leaving the boat dock. At 5:30 AM most mornings. There were maybe 6-8 with 1 or 2 that were SUPER LOUD. I just used ear plugs and slept beautifully. Wouldn’t let the rare loud air boat detract from the beautiful bay setting. The north end bay sites are further from the boat traffic and are not impacted. One night I found the bay sites to have 7-8 spaces open @ 10 pm when the Texas website showed only 1 site open. So you should not rule this wonderful park out if it shows as full. We spent a week here in late January 2022

For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: It's surprisingly beautiful here. I'm in the wooded area #152 and every view from my rig is woods and private! Not all sites have this feature, so check the photos on the website for the best sites. It's quiet on a Saturday night. Good sign. With Senior discount it comes to $21 with electric and water!

Harken

For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: Despite previous reviews, we were very disappointed in this park. We stayed in the Lantana Loop, and our site looked like it had not had any care in years. Unmoved grass, broken pavement and sand and mud were prevalent. The bathrooms were beyond old, although a level above just plain dirty. The little “cabins” they had down by the water were kind of nice, but the waterfront itself is very uninviting. We would not return.

For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: Great park. Beach side closed from hurricane open for day use only. You can go over and fish etc. pier is closed from hurricane Texas parks you don’t need fishing license as long as on park property and they even loan you poles etc. bathrooms were a little old We’d go back

For Bayfront - Goose Island State Park: I visited twice in August 2014 in my pop up camper. There are two sides, in the woods and the bayfront. Bayfront has no shade except for covered picnic tables and are close together. Wooded sites are much more spacious and have lots of shade and a few trails. Some wooded sites are completely private on three sides and have a distance between them. Very long pier and shoreline fishing. The "Big Tree" is worth a look. Butterfly garden. Verizon had decent signal and wifi is available at ranger station and at the larger restrooms at the bayfront. Restrooms are decent and clean. Mosquitos can be pretty bad at times during the year.
