For Pecan Park Campground: After reading the recent reviews, I must agree with piggrib from 2015. Rather disappointing. Nothing thing to rave about.

For Pecan Park Campground: Very pleasant. I didn’t interact with staff at all so I can’t speak to that. Good location. Good clean power. Good water pressure. Good WiFi. I’m not awarding 5 stars because my site was a ways out of level. With a rig shorter than my 40 footer, it would not be a big deal.

For Pecan Park Campground: Lovely peaceful park. Went to the jacuzzi and pool almost daily. The staff is friendly and helpful. The winter monthly price is very reasonable. Would highly recommend a stay there.

For Pecan Park Campground: Great park on the river, minutes from town, quiet, beautiful trees!😁😁

For Pecan Park Campground: Great little campground. Almost completely secluded except at night you can hear a little bit of the highway traffic to the north. Very minor though. The staff is top notch and very accommodating. They seem to enjoy making the experience great for all their guests. The camp ground is right next to the San Marcus river with access for tubing. They also have nightly activities for the kids. Indoor pool if you’re so inclined. Lots of big trees and shade on the east side of the park. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice getaway.

Amy

For Pecan Park Campground: I have been staying at Pecan Park since October of 2016 and it is a great place! Two dog parks, an indoor swimming pool, and right on the river. Free wifi that works good and you also get free cable. If you need super fast internet you can get your own hookup at your site through Time Warner. There are activities that you can join (water aerobics, knitting group etc) and very close to lots of live music (woot!).

Pigcrib

For Pecan Park Campground: The park website and its other advertising hypes up the place in a grandiose nature.

Overall my family has rated this camp ground with an average to poor rating. The grounds were cluttered with trash from previous campers, the roads are subpar for hauling trailers and the facilities (such as bathrooms) are poor and have seen better days. The Wifi signal is poor and the cable was inoperable.

For the amount of money they want to charge per night and the "restrictions" they have for their customers, they obviously believe that their geographic location next to the river will overcome their short comings.

Management Response: Pigcrib, we appreciate your visit to Pecan Park. Many of our guests don't know that we suffered two devastating floods in 2015 when the whole campground was literally submerged until feet of water. The second of these floods took place less than a month before your review was posted. You can imagine that, when you visited, we were in major recovery mode and just trying to survive. Our neighbors were hit, too, so contractors were scarce for repairs. All of our amenities like cable and Wi-fi had to be cleaned up and repaired. Fortunately, we have been making great strides in our 5-year recovery plan. We're following the Dave Ramsey method, saving up cash to make our repairs rather than going into debt. We've given a lot of attention to our bathrooms, adding two jacuzzi tubs in our upstairs bathrooms, and remodeling the bathroom by our indoor pool. Our washers and dryers are brand new, we recently put fresh gravel down on our sites, we've been doing landscaping, etc. etc. We hope those who are interested in our park will take the time to check out our Facebook page, where we have many recent photos and reviews. Happy trails!
