Wandering Sandals

For Samuel W Wahl Rec Area: This review is for Sam Wahl Recreation campground sites, which are dispersed along the reservoir. Each site has covered picnic table and all trees around the campground are barely tall enough shrubs that provide little shade to tent, and none to RV or trailer. price per campsite is linearly to people on board. So 2 of us will cost $10 for primitive site and $24 entrance fee for total of $34. The entrance fee is daily so be forewarned for folks that want multi day stay. Sure, folks with family can buy annual permit for $250 but only for this park, and not entire Texas state park. Even the most expensive state like California has 118 state park and 9 recreation area and the annual fee of just $195 which entitle you to any of them. Gravel roads to each site are very tight, not suitable for long trailer or RV if you have fear of country striping on your rig. Boat launch and respective parking are tight and concentrated. Boat launch has additional charge beside high entrance fee.
