For Piney Point: Campsites are level and spaced well. Beautiful view of the lake but few sites have access. Arrived w/o reservations but knew sites were available. Told to go choose our site, pay on line and come back and get the hang tag. Gate is about a mile from campsites. The attendant or ranger could have either given us a blank one or dropped it off when they made their rounds. No trash cans in the park … had to go to the dumpster about 1/2 mile away. As mentioned, bathrooms/showers needed updated and cleaned.

For Piney Point: Beautiful campground. Large sites. Bath house could use some updating. Biggest drawback is locals ignoring quiet time and partying loudly until all hours of the night. There is a sister campground connected by a hiking trail that is much larger. We did not see those bathhouses. Perhaps the locals aren’t a problem there. Or stick to weeknight vs weekend reservations if partying isn’t your thing.

For Piney Point: There are two campgrounds here. Piney point and Rocky point. Rocky Point is twice the size of Piney point. It is either newer or has more maintenance money due to is size. Piney point needs some maintenance, but the location is the attraction. Large pine trees though out the campground.

For Piney Point: Camped on Wednesday night. Only 12 sites occupied. We have a sunset lake view for one night. All sites have a concrete picnic table on a concrete pad. All sites are reservable and weekends are fully booked with boats and jet skis. Air Boat (like in swamps) makes a lot of noise on the lake. Just a mile off hwy 59 (future I-69).
