For Speegleville: Top notch campground. Huge campsites. Very quiet. All sites paved and pretty level. Did not use bath house but looked inside and appeared well-maintained and cleaned. Picnic table and grill on all sites with shelter on most. We were here in winter so were not worried about shade. Took site #4 which does not have shelter but sits parallel to the lake so you have wonderful lake-front living room view of the lake. Haven't dumped yet, but walked by dump station and it look very clean; surprised to see that the two drains were covered by maybe 3'x 5' galvanized steel plate to keep everything nice and tidy.

For Speegleville: Dont expect the site you reserved to be available. They gave my shady space to someone else and expected me to take the space the other person vacated which was in full sun all day and it was literally 110 degrees. Reserved site 12 online because the weather was record heat and 12 looked shady. Arrived next day its 110 degrees. Get checked in drive to my site and there is a travel trailer already in my space. Drove back to office and informed the man working the gate and he called Park Ranger to go knock on the peoples door. Sat in parking lot for over 2 hours in 110 degree heat for the rangers. They finally arrive and tell me no one answered but ranger received a call from the person so he drove back over to office. Long time later comes back to my truck to tell me the other person was supposed to be in 13 but had requested to be put in my site 12 so they moved him. But I could stay right across the road from my site and roast my ass all day while the guy who took my spot sat in shade and they wouldnt charge me. What a deal! I left and aint going back.

For Speegleville: We love ACOE sites, and normally this one would get five stars. Downgraded due to lack of maintenance of the trash removal (way overflowing and it smelled horrible), and the dump station was hazardously overflowing/dirty. Other than that, sites are wide open, well spaced, and most have covered cabanas. We did not use the restrooms. Good lake views and nice sunsets. Close to Waco and shopping there. Hosts were not around, we saw lots of folks working on tree trimming. They did a controlled burn when we were there, which was a little scary.

For Speegleville: Stayed Oct 2015. Many sites on lake with great views. Hosts very nice and not crowded. There were some mosquitoes in the evening. Would definitely go back.
