For Lake Arrowhead State Park: Very nice campground. Stayed for the night, so quiet & peaceful. The prairie dogs are fun to watch. The lake is beautiful. Only negative is dated bathroom area. But, it is clean & water gets hot for showers. And, yes, there is an oil drill but not loud or bothersome at all. Will definitely stay here again.

For Lake Arrowhead State Park: In early-spring 2014, it was misleading to call this a lake. There was barely enough water in the park to call it a city pond.

From our experience at Texas State Parks, I'm not sure what the state means by advertising that the state's parks have WiFi capability, but that is not true at any of the campgrounds we visited in 2014.

The campsites are really generously sized and very private, even when the campground is full. The showers and bathrooms are well-maintained. Due to the extended state drought, all of the campgrounds we visited in 2014 were burn free zones, but the camp sites are equipped with firepits and covered picnic tables.

We visited Lake Arrowhead in mid-March and it was largely empty. We had an entire section of a campground circle to ourselves. There is an oil well on site and it is noisy and stinks. I would avoid sites 25-30. The campsites are nicely wooded and when/if it is green, the trees would provide nice wind-break and shade.
