For Yankee Meadow Campground: PLEASE NOTE: Yankee Meadow is closed due to a major fire in 2017. The forest service website does not indicate the closure anywhere but there are No Camping signs posted at the several dispersed camping areas as well as the organized campground. There is a typewritten official notice posted on the Forest Service kiosk (which is after the 6 mile winding dirt road) saying the campground and sites are closed under federal law but it is easily overlooked. The notice says the campground will reopen on September 18, 2018 unless rescinded before that time. I would certainly call the forest service before trying to camp there. It is a beautiful setting and would have given it 5 stars but I have given it one star due to its closure.
