For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: So beautiful! Lots of room to camp! I did get stuck in some deeper sand twice so I recommend staying on the paths if your vehicle doesn't have four wheel drive.

For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: 5 Stars for beauty. I write to add to the other reviews: You CAN take any rig down to the beach. No need to be afraid. I examined most of the 'roads' down, and the beach area. Here's my recommendation: (1) Drive on the pavement all the way to the pavilion / bath house. As you leave the pavement, take a 90 deg. left and head straight for the water. This 'road' is double wide, and has had stone added. There's no dips and rises that are deep enough to cause trouble. Once your on the broad beach area, it's easy to see the parts that have stone and are firm. It's a huge area. As you work your way west along this area, you'll begin to see plain sand. Same as you work your way east toward the marina. Finally, there are many, many short-cuts and alternative paths in and out - but you can't see till you get there that there are soft spots or ripples that will hang and big rig. If it's not 2 cars wide, stay off it with your rig. We found 3 bars 4G Verizon data and 3 bars 3G US Cellular (roaming). The drinking water's good, and the views are awesome!

Meanderling Life

For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: We stayed at this campsite on two different occasions. We stayed two nights in the first part of April 2018 directly on the beach. The second time we stayed, we did two nights at the top in the last part of April 2018. When we stayed on the beach the wind was very strong and was blowing sand everywhere. Unfortunately, it did not make for a good experience. The two nights we stayed at top were nice and quiet with little to no wind. The camping area is very easy to find and access. There is a nice paved road that leads to the top sites and a bit further down it takes you to the beginning of the sand. It is a bit of a haul to get down to the water, but we went slow and had no trouble getting there with our 30’ travel trailer. The area has a dump station and potable water on-site, right at the entrance. We did not have any trouble leveling in either spot. However, the internet was not usable for us with AT&T. The scenery was beautiful in both spots. If you need anything, Page, AZ is not far down the road and will have anything you need.
