For DC - Pohick Bay Regional Park: This place is a diamond in the rough! Campsites are beautiful and so well maintained. We are in a 41' Mountain Aire and booked early to get a lovely site, although the larger sites are scarce. Check when you book as the sites vary from tenting to RV full hook ups. Proximity to D.C. Is excellent but you would never know how close you are. Granted, we are well insulated, but peace and quiet reigns! Rt 1 South has a 13'4" bridge but there is an alternate route in so check your clearance. This is our second visit and we will be back!

For DC - Pohick Bay Regional Park: Lovely park with gorgeous trees. Well paved roads. Spotless bathhouses and laundry. Nice campstore. Very nice staff. 30 min to Washington DC. Close to shopping, fuel and freeways yet feels very secluded and quiet. Some noise from air canons used to get rid of geese as this is next to Potomac river. Also quite a few helicopters but didn't detract from peace and privacy. We stayed here in November so it wasn't crowded. This campground is better suited to rigs 35 feet and under. About 8 sites appropriate for bigger rigs. We stayed with 40' toyhauler and only a few sites worked for us. Sites need leveling. We got 60 over the air tv channels but no wifi except at office. Will definitely return.

CT

For DC - Pohick Bay Regional Park: We camped here on our recent visit to DC and Mount Vernon. It was perfect! We love a campsite that is nestled among the trees and has the feel of a state park vs they parking lot feel. This park is exactly that! We camp in a 25' motor home and there were big rigs as well as tents and pop ups all around us. But, every site we observed was shady. The roads are paved and our site was gravel. It was very close to Mt. Vernon (15 minutes) enabling us to go home and walk our dog and return for the afternoon. We also drove into Springfield Metro Station (30 min) and took the Metro into DC to tour the Holocaust Museum one day. The restrooms were tiled, updated, and spotless. The laundry rooms had two oversized washers and dyers (coin only.) So, while were were there one morning I did two weeks' laundry very easily. The only negative about this park as others have states, some of the sites are not level.

CKL

For DC - Pohick Bay Regional Park: Pros: Close to the Metro ( about 20 min. Drive). Good choice to visit DC. Wooded and shaded sites. Canoeing and kayak rentals nearby. Near a waterpark. Polite, helpful staff.

Cons: The campsites are close together and uneven. No privacy. Lots of RVs and people. The bathroom isn't very clean.
