Mahja

For Newport News Park: Excellent campground! We have been driving up and down the east coast n our 25' RV and each night we've stayed at a different campground. Everything from outer banks to Charlestown and Florida. And this campground is by far the nicest. We were on the lake and felt like we had the entire campground to ourselves. High trees provide loads of shade and site next to us was far enough away that you had to look for them to find them. So we had a water view out the back and beautiful forest on every other side. There is a 5 mile bike trail thru forest which is well groomed and shaded. You can be biking and come across George Washingtons house! What's incredible is that you are surrounded by history. Place is so well maintained and the scenery is breathtaking! Absolutely the nicest RV campsite we've ever had the pleasure of staying at. Great job by the National Historic Park crew!!

Mcpowder

For Newport News Park: Nice Park. Sites are wooded and 80% empty! W/E only but there is a Dump Station. Restrooms are maintained.
Convenient to Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown.
Sites are asphalt and some are very "unlevel". Office Staff are very nice.
We will definitely return here.

Sunnycove

For Newport News Park: One of the nicer City Parks we have stayed at. Most sites are level and fairly far appart. The trees are plentiful and tall. At $33 a night it is pricy for our Midwest standards but with it so close to so much history we would never hesitate staying here again. Loved our stay.

Sachmo

For Newport News Park: Great location to visit Yorktown, Williamsburg and Jamestown and other historic areas. Very wooded campground that that was 80% vacant during our three night stay in July 2015. Campground is in need of being refurbished. Some sites are deteriorated and need to be repaved and leveled. Our pedestal was too hot and delivering 130+ a volts during the morning hours. Surge protector shutdown power during these times. Otherwise a very wooded and picturesque campground. There are two major highways next to the lake by the camp ground and there is highway noise. I would stay here again if in the area.

Diesel

For Newport News Park: Lots of sites to camp. No sewer connections but there is a dump station. Stayed while grand baby was born. Nice people. Fair price...around 33'ish a night. Lots of options of activities such as canoes, paddle boats and playgrounds for kids. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Lots of room for big rig motor homes.
