For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: What a disappointment. We heard great things about Thousand Trails. Excited to use our new membership that we received comp through LeMesa. Thought a 760 mile trip to Colonial Williamsburg would be especially fun during Christmas so we’re here for three nights. You have to clear a gate god knows why. The receptionist doesn’t tell you where to proceed. So I pulled my 38 beast with toad up to a huge puddle, unhooked my toad at that point. Then looked for checkin. Spot 40 may be a pull through but my bumpers front n back are hangin in the streets. While setting up of course my wife steps in a big pile of poop. Add picking up someone’s discarded mask, gloves and other crap on the site. So far, absolutely memorable! Ya gotta pay extra for WiFi, cable and god knows what other surprises. Just took the pup for a discovery walk and found another nice huge mud hole on the lane that I will have to drive my nice clean rig through. We have 2 1/2 days to go. They still have to earn the 2 stars i given them.

For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: Spots are so close & the roads are very narrow. The sewer access port was damaged to the point that sewage spilled everywhere when we drained. It seemed like there was a constant sewerage smell across the area as well. The slots in the front are on pretty graded hills which wasn’t enjoyable. The sites were very unkempt. A lot of permanent residents in RVs as well as the cabins. Won’t be back. It was crazy we paid the price we did for what we got.

For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: Not first come first serve like other 1000 trails parks. We have a 43 footer and the roads were designed for golf carts. Extremely tight.... Many sites unbelievably not level. Front desk seemed a bit cool to me as I was only here for a few days. Told me I had to move after they said I could use the site because someone who “knew the manager” decided they wanted my site but had been one site over for 28 days....And they decided they wanted my site, which was one of only a few that would allow dish TV coverage. Very very wooded. Logged in to their fast wave WiFi and no one asked me to pay yet...So I’m able to use Roku for tv and Netflix. About a dozen over the air channels, again, depending on your location in the park. I’ve paid $20 for a week at other fast wave parks. $5 per day up to three days then $20 a week. Not much for amenities, outdoor pool is closed for the season. Quite a lot of activities for kids....

For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: If you’re looking for the amenities and upgrades typically found in a $60/night private campground, then checkout one of the many in the area. If you’re a member and want to stay in a decent park, this is your spot. The WiFi is typical Fast Wave quality, so I use my T-Mobile and Verizon routers for work and streaming. Some days it’s great, other times not so much. The first time here you may feel that the roads are narrow and difficult to maneuver though, but I have a 43’ 5th wheel and have no problems. It’s true that some spots are not level, but the vast majority are just fine. Finding a level spot can be a challenge if you are a retail customer or come in on Thur - Sat. What confuses me the most are complaints about not being clean or poorly maintained. Its an old campground, yet everything works and kept clean. It’s everything I expect and I’ve been in MUCH worse private campgrounds.

For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: The pool area and playground(s) were excellent. Very clean and large for swimming and playing. The kids loved that part. The sites left something to be desired. It’s very tight and you’ll likely be in your neighbor’s campsite. Also not much parking for your car and the roads are narrow. Overall we still had fun and being as it was a free stay with our membership I was ok with it. My BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that people speed through the campgrounds, everyone does, and as mentioned it’s very tight. Being as I have children enjoying the facilities I would have appreciated it if they would enforce a speed limit. Keep your kids close if you stay here or they could easily get struck by a hurried camper.

For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: I was very disappointed. This is more of a trailer park that an RV park. Roads are very narrow, lots are un-level. Hook ups or not placed properly, and the septic hook up is more than 25 feet away from the water and the electrical. Some of the structures on the property are rotting and falling in! It is obvious that many of those who are parked in here or here for him an indefinite period of time. Some lots even have decks that have been built up to the trailer. I will not be coming back.

Mark & Julie

For Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort: Stay time: 5 weeks

The Good
GREAT WIFI ($25/2 weeks)($35/month). The routers are placed around the park. Great indoor and outdoor pool, playground, nice dirt/semi-paved road to run or walk. We had enough room to setup our 8-man tent next to our 33-ft travel trailer and our 15-passenger van and Prius car. We were 10 minutes away from Walmart, 15 minutes away from Colonial Williamsburg and WAWA!!!

The Bad
There seems to be no sense of organizational vision for the location so it seems as if the staff are checking the box for their jobs, (unlike the Chesapeake Bay Thousand Trails). They have tried to develop events for the park but with continually low turnout, it was hard to justify the expense for nearly zero participants. Since Williamsburg is a tourist location, RV owners staying at the park generally are focused on going to the tourist areas and therefore the park looses any sense of community which might exist elsewhere. The RV parking slots are a little tight and you will probably feel like sardines in an RV park.
