For Lake Leo Campground: A hidden gem. The lake and forest setting is very attractive. The access road from the highway and the campground roadways are paved. The sites are well spaced for privacy and are reasonably level, although small (best suited for car & tent camping). The sites are strung along a narrow curving single lane roadway that ends in a very small tight loop back onto itself. If you’re driving anything bigger than a pickup/camper or Class B motorhome van conversion, you may want to walk the road first before deciding to drive it or not. The potable freshwater supply is a hand pumped well near the campground check-in station. The pump requires a couple minutes of vigorous pumping before water begins to flow, unless someone else has very recently also used it. Containers can be filled with enough pumping (time, energy), but you would need several fit and willing people to pump enough to fill a large RV tank. There is some minor noise from the highway but traffic is generally light, so a peaceful forest environment prevails. The campground is on the edge of the National Forest. There is private land and residential neighbors nearby, but this is not apparent from the campground. Mid-week July 2019 there was only one other site occupied, so this campground may be only lightly used. There is a very small day use parking area (also a fee area) but it was never used during our visit.

For Lake Leo Campground: Beautiful camp. Maybe 30 ft is okay. Use the storage bins.
