For Klahowya Campground: As of July 2019 the campground fee is $17/night, before applying possible discounts (Federal passes etc). The access road from the highway into the campground, as well as the campground loops, are one lane gravel, with some occasional wider spots that marginally let two rigs very carefully squeeze past each other. The eastern loop seems more private than the western loop (more site spacing and vegetation). There are freshwater faucets spaced around the loops. The faucets have spring loaded self-closing handles and thin, non threaded outlets. So a “water bandit” or similar attachment is needed to attach a hose and fill an RV freshwater tank. The vault toilets are reasonably clean. There is weak but functional Verizon voice and data coverage, depending on your exact location in the campground. AT&T may display a one-bar signal, but even simple text messaging is spotty. The campground host has firewood for sale. This campground receives fairly heavy use because it’s so close to Olympic National Park. Despite that, it doesn’t feel or look overused or abused by great numbers of people. Because it’s not in the National Park but in the National Forest, dogs are allowed on the trails in and around the campground. This is a good alternative to one of the campgrounds within the National Park.

For Klahowya Campground: I've stayed here since I was a kid.
Wonderful spot by the river, fishing, swimming, walking and more.

Right across the hiway from the Discovery trail- nice place to bike ride with your kids (once you cross the hiway)
Close motorcycle riding.
Just 'shared' water and clean pit toilets.

If you like being in the woods, more than normal privacy and don't need the power, water etc- it is great.

Summer only, they used to leave it open all winter, wish they still did.

For Klahowya Campground: We got herein a Sunday in midAugust, and were lucky to find a very sweet spot on the river! The river was pretty low this time of year! Our site was huge, and we could put our chairs by the river and cool our feet. There was some traffic noise, but not bad! The pit toilets were'nt bad, and we had water nearby. I'd probably prefer to stay a little earlier in the season if I return.
