Manfred

For Highland Ridge: Older Army Corps campground with dense shade and 50A power. Our site (14) was deep and level side to side, not so much front to back but there was a lot of room. Beautiful mature trees and good privacy. Did not use the facilities as we only stayed one night. We met up with friends from the area and this campground is only 40 or so mile from the east metro of St Paul MN. We’ve camped here before and will again. It’s very nice. And our 37ft 5ver fits.

For Highland Ridge: Pretty campground in the forest, but I don’t recommend site #18. Not level side to side or front to back. Campsites on either side have full view of this campsite, so there’s no privacy. Long enough for a 33ft. fifth wheel without having to unhook. Don’t forget to fill up with water at the dump station as these sites only have electricity. No water view, which is uncommon for ACE campgrounds.

For Highland Ridge: Very quiet campground. We had an ADA site which was great for our daughter. The playground is in great condition. The Eau Gall reservoir is about a 15 minute drive but definitely worth checking out.

For Highland Ridge: Agree with other reviews, few sites are beyond steep to get into. Had site 7 with a 25 ft TT and got stuck after a rain getting in. It’s doable but difficult. Check your site selection well upon reservation. Otherwise, very nice and beautiful park for walking (strenuous walking, steep inclines), playground. Other amenities in park are far away on other side of reservoir.

Our Chains Are Gone

For Highland Ridge: Nice campground. Clean facilities.
However, sites 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and a few others are not suitable for anything much longer than 20'. They are all at such an incline it is extremely difficult to get in or out. We had a tough time. Our neighbor in site 7 dug in with his stabilizers (5th wheel). It was not good. Read the fine print in the descriptions before booking.
