For Grandview Sandbar - New River Gorge National River: Very nice, quite and clean primitive campground. Here Tuesday through Thursday nights mid November, about half the trailer & RV sites used. FCFS, no reservations.

For Grandview Sandbar - New River Gorge National River: We were looking for a place to camp within the NP that would be convenient to hiking. We're self contained in our 25-foot motorhome and don't use the facilities. We stayed 2 weeknights in mid-October. This is a 10-site, free, first-come first-served CG situated right on the New River. (Note it will be reservation only in 2023. We found no information about rates.) On the first night, the CG filled by 5:30. On the second night, there was one open site. The sites were gravel, mostly level or required a bit of leveling and generously sized. There are no services except for a restroom with pit toilets and dumpsters. There is no Verizon or ATT cell coverage in the CG, although there is a weak, usable signal on the road near the entrance. This is a great place for river access and fishing. The Little Laurel trail is nearby which is a delightful hike to Grandview. The Glade Creek Trail starts at the Glade Creek CG, 5 miles further up the road.

For Grandview Sandbar - New River Gorge National River: I used the handicap site at the sandbar from Monday to Wednesday of this week. Rainy but enjoyable and the other campers were very friendly and helpful. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to primitive camp and Mr. Hatcher was very friendly and all the Rangers were friendly and helpful.
