For Battle Run: Excellent well-maintained campground. The showers even have a laundromat which is only a dollar per load! Very quiet on a Thursday evening. Wonderful playground for the kids.Big level site, but some are less level, but still good. Lots of available first come first serve sites. Much easier to find and get to than most army core of engineer sites. $17 with golden age pass.

For Battle Run: Very large and very well run campsite. We arrived at the height of the season, full of families having fun away from electronic devices! Obviously the focus here is on the lake / water related activities. We planned on just overnighting but stayed a bit longer because of the fun atmosphere and biking trails. Very reasonable ($15 w/electric if you have a NP pass) and we’ll maintained. Don’t stay if you’re looking for peace and quiet, but enjoy the celebration with your families.

Julie Parker

For Battle Run: Staff is very nice. Arrived to find the “lake” is a puddle. Apparently they drain the lake in October for white water rafting on the other side of the dam. We expected a lake side spot and what we have is a crater of brown mud with a puddle in the center. We had also called weeks ago to be sure of reservation requirements, etc....we were told this time of year it is first come, first served but we were not told they close for the season on 10/14 - this means we have to leave earlier than we had anticipated and change our upcoming schedule. Not a big deal but inconvenient. We’re not sad to have to leave early because every morning before the sun comes up there are loud work trucks and heavy equipment roaring and beeping....currently sounds like they’re drilling at 8 am - they are escavating the bottom of the lake or something - certainly does not meet the expectations of a quiet, lakeside experience we had thought we were going to have. I’m sure this place is great in the summer. But in October, I’m counting the days til we leave.

For Battle Run: Jackpot! This Army Corps run campground is a little slice of heaven. Gorgeous surroundings (we came in early fall in a 30 ft class c), friendly staff, beautiful sites surrounding the lake, swim beach- convenient stop before rafting the upper new the next day. We loved it here (only complaint- no laundry)
