For Lava Mountain Lodge: Disappointing, left early and took a beating on cancelation. Manager relayed that “corporate” bought this and other properties. Appears new management invested in lodge and restaurant, but not RV spots. Debris scattered around site 1. Laundry had been inop for 2 weeks. 2 full hookup, and a handful of W/E, scattered around a confusing property that includes a greenhouse and horse corrals. No T-Mobile or AT&T, WIFi only good by the lodge. Observed a man, apparently living in car, use code to access restroom. Great view, but much better options and signal 18 mikes east in Dubois.

For Lava Mountain Lodge: We stayed for 5 nights and very unhappy. There is excessive air in the water system which was blamed on the fact that the pump had to pump up hill. Because of all the air in the system we dared not try the showers, which were pay showers. My understanding is that since the new owners took over end of 2020, things have gone downhill. The wife and I agree, this is the worse campsite we’ve ever had! We won’t be back.

For Lava Mountain Lodge: Not a rv park. Maybe 3 camp sites. Very unlevel. Ad says full hook up... the well must be dry because all we had was air and spits of water. Entire place was unkept. Laundry out of order. The cook in restaurant was sweaty and not clean. Horrible. Liars.

For Lava Mountain Lodge: The location was nice. Far enough from all the tourists but close enough to Tetons and Yellowstone. We originally booked 7 nights but added 4 more nights because the area was gorgeous. The cell tower near there was recently decommissioned so there was no cell service at all. The WiFi was OK but would go down several times per day which was annoying for my husband and I to work from the camper. They do not mow at all. The grass was very long and our site was at the very end so with our outdoor mat we were able to avoid walking through the tall grass that had taken over the gravel site and there were tons of cute ground squirrels running around the tall grass but they didn’t cause damage. The horses were an added bonus. We ate at the restaurant at the lodge the day we arrived. It was July 4 weekend and it didn’t seem that they were prepared for all the guests they had and apparently a waitress had called off. A lot of people were very angry with the lack of service and time it took for guests to get their food and they were out of items on the menu. We waited for a spot on the patio but had to go back inside to get our drinks and refills from the bar. The food was good though but we didn’t go back. The staff were arguing and stressed due to the situation but they were still nice and apologetic. They also gave a discount on the food because of the situation.

For Lava Mountain Lodge: Stopped here overnight, nice small park with friendly staff. We would like to stay here again for a longer visit to the area.

For Lava Mountain Lodge: Cell service was non-existent and wifi was very spotty. Beware of the local highway patrol. There are no speed limit signs from the lodge to the nearest town except one which says 70, apparently 55 is the limit on the 3 miles between the lodge and that sign. The officer didn't care that I didn't know that, that I wasn't from the area, or that there was no sign except for the 70 sign that I was sitting under while we talked. Not a visitor friendly place.

It was nice to be as close to the Tetons and Yellowstone (still 45 minutes to an hour away though). The view was awesome.

The restaurant was good but overpriced. Laundry room was good. The parking spot was fairly level and gravel, but we were parked on a small 'cliff' that was eroding and very rugged.

We probably will not go back because of the bad internet connections (I work while on the road and must have the connection). It was a very 'mountain man' experience and not suited as well for women in our experience. Not a bad stay, just not for us - not our style.

For Lava Mountain Lodge: This is a great RV park to stop at we stayed here 2 weeks. It has the best rates around and you are only 30 minutes to the Grand Tetons. The WIFI is great also but no AT&T cell phone service. It has a little store and a restraunt there also. If your planning on going to the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone or Jackson Hole this is a great home base. We will definitely stay here again.
