For Hunter Peak Campground: This is a good dry camp campground next to a large river. There is water by use of a hand pump, hard to get into rig. I recommend you come filled with necessary water for length of stay. No dump station. Bring mosquito spray you will need it. I highly recommend taking the Beartooth highway drive over the mountain (without your rig) most beautiful views I have ever seen. Cooke City is about 20 miles away just over the Montana border, very friendly, good food and limited supplies. Cooke City had an unbelievable 4th of July fireworks display. $25 dollars a night July 2020.

For Hunter Peak Campground: This is a really nice campground for what it is. It’s beautiful, right next to the river. The RV sites are pretty small, no pull throughs. For being right next to the road it was surprisingly quiet. There’s a pump for water available. Also a great hiking trail just across the highway. The camp host Dennis is awesome. He was super helpful and maintains the cleanest pit toilet you’ll ever see.
