For Owl Canyon Campground: So lovely spot - clean sites very well spaced . Bathroom can't comment. Great tables with cover and fire pits Local hikes are incredible - don't be put off by very sketchy Barstow which looks to have survived the zombies (barely). We drove along way for this spot and it was totally worth it

For Owl Canyon Campground: If you like to be off the beaten path and don’t mind the washboards this could be just the place for you. It was 109 degrees on I-40, and dropped 20 degrees by the time we got to the campground. It cooled down nice by dark with a cool breeze all night. The stars were amazing and we had a visit from a young grey fox. We were the only ones in the campground. No water this trip. There were garbage cans and pit toilets. I agree with the review to do the Rainbow Canyon drive, or ride a bike through the loop, very interesting. We will be back. We travel in a Class B.

For Owl Canyon Campground: As everyone says it is a long washboard road to get there but oh so worth it. Bring everything you need and stay as long as you can. Beautiful surroundings with many hiking trails. Be sure to drive through the rainbow basin loop, spectacular. I stayed in a 32' Fifth Wheel, lots of room.

For Owl Canyon Campground: We really like this campground the biggest downside is the 3+ miles of washboard road to get here. It will test your bladder and your desire to get to the campground. But once you're here you forget all about it until it comes time to leave. Bring your food and drinks because you won't want to have to run to town back on that road unless you don't care about your vehicle being rattled to bits. This really is a great campground with lots of empty sites. Most are not very level so bring your blocks.

For Owl Canyon Campground: We stayed all night here Monday, April 18th, 2016 en route to home from a trip to Sedona. Barstow was forecasted at 86 degrees that day. The last 5 miles of the road leading to the campground is a wide dirt road, but a high clearance vehicle is not required. It looks like the road had recently been graded. There were only a couple of spots that seemed pretty wash boarded; not bad at all. The campground is in the Rainbow Basin Natural Area, which has geological and paleontological features (fossils). There were three other RVs and three other tent campers there that night. The campground fee was a whopping $6 per night, and only half of that if you had certain types of federal passes. The campground appeared to have been renovated in the last several years, with nice tables, shade ramadas, and fire and grilling pits.

For Owl Canyon Campground: We stayed here October 3-5, 2015. We were the only campers there and the weather was beautiful. Only glitch that we had was a big thunderstorm came through the second day and turned the dry creek bed behind our campsite into a raging torrent. Be very cautious about the flash flood potential of this canyon! Fortunately the campground fared just fine but the road was a mess leaving. I needed my 4 ?4 to get out
