Mandie

For Pelican Nest RV Resort and Campground: We loved this park! The people were super friendly! The public beach was right across the park. The campground is small, but we met everyone. There is a restaurant right next door. We took our bikes all over the island. There is no need for a car. The island is pretty small, and shops are close by. We will definitely stay again.

floyd byerly

For Pelican Nest RV Resort and Campground: I stayed here most of April 2021 in a truck camper with a kayak trailer. Paid about $1300 for the month. Never used the facilities but appear clean and adequate from a distance. Enjoyed the ice cream in the office shop. Owner and main maintenance person Frank are friendly helpful and enjoyable to be around. I was in first site on the right as you enter small camp area. They had three feet of water in lot during one hurricane so advise caution that time of year. Site was big enough to take off camper, park truck, park kayak trailer with some room to spare. Big rigs with slide outs are close. Next to Main Street of Dauphin Island and it is busy and of course noisy but easy to adjust to. On the north side of camp close to kayak put in with a nice area to paddle. Area generally open so able to get satellite signal. They have cable, WIFI, and I had good Verizon. They rent kayaks and bikes with a good bike path, near by. Beach which I never visited ,across street quite popular. On same side across street Islander Restaurant which I did go to and enjoyed. Not a wilderness experience campground but if you want to explore the island and be around friendly people a good choice. West end of island had a good beach, but closed access due hurricane. Should be open by summer. Used to have a nearby gym but closed. Went to Tillman corner area Planet fitness for exercise and showers about 30 minute drive. Good kayaking in area. Mobile close by with museums and so forth.

Rambling Coach

For Pelican Nest RV Resort and Campground: The campground is extremely small (12 sites) and and sites are smaller. Our site was directly behind a bicycle repair shop with a public road 10 ft from the back of our coach. We were asked to park our car on the side the public road rather then at our site. The cable TV was very poor but internet was good. The only other good thing I can say about the campground is location. The public beach is directly across the street. Would I stay at this campground again? NO
