For Panamint Springs Resort: This ‘resort’ is as rough as Death Valley itself, although marred by rusted trash strewn about the surrounding area. It is unclear whether the resort is recovering or suffering from neglect. Large jagged rocks define uneven RV and tent sites, but are also scattered randomly. Unused irrigation tubes lie upon the surface near withering shrubs. At $60 for a full hookup, it is expensive, even given the remote location. The view over the desert to the mountains is striking, and the resort is quiet, save for late arrivals groping their way in after dark. No WiFi in the campground. No Verizon or ATT service.

For Panamint Springs Resort: Panamint Springs review Welcome to Bedrock City! Dry campsites are $20 and have piped water, a picnic table and campfire ring. Very rustic, with a few shade trees and small growths of vegetation The WiFi is strongest near the central bathhouse but once connected it worked all over the grounds also no ATT signal at all. There is a grand view of a little seen part of Death Valley with the more visited area on the the other side of the Funeral Mountains. Located 2000’ above the valley floor so don’t expect a huge temperature difference. Today on Thursday, end of May it’s 88 here and 91 below but the breeze helps considerably. Speaking of which, it really starts blowing down into the valley as the sun goes down and keeps blowing until 11 then calms into a sweet breeze through the night 2 other small rigs here dry camping and 3 or 4 larger RVs in the full hookup. There are tents and cabins to rent also. I heard that even on Memorial Day there were a few spots available. Check in is at the gas station/ general store after 4pm and the staff couldn’t be nicer. I’d come back anytime except during full on summer.

For Panamint Springs Resort: We really enjoyed this campground. We stayed for three nights in site 6 of the full hook up area . I believe all of the full hook up sites are pull throughs. The desert views from this area are absolutely stunning. There are also non hookup RV sites that are in an even more pleasant area of resort. We were greeted each morning by roadrunners and fighter jets giving us an air show as they do practice runs up and down the Panamint Valley. I am taking off a star for the horrible bathrooms that are badly in need of renovation and the absolutely horrible pruning job they gave the trees in the park. The park employees were pleasant, and the restaurant was cozy. The food looked good, although we only stayed for drinks. Gas and food are pricey, although the markup is warranted because of transportation costs to this remote location. This is a great base to explore Death Valley from, in particularly if you don’t want to bring your rig up the rather hairy road into the center of the park. We will definitely be back.

For Panamint Springs Resort: We had low expectations based on some of the reviews here but this is a beautiful location and a clean RV Park with major new improvements. There are new rental cabins that look very nice, we saw cleaning and trash removal daily and the restaurant/bar makes great burgers at a reasonable price considering you are off the grid. Speaking of off the grid, the electricity is via diesel generator which was fine for our 20 year old diesel pusher. There is WiFi but don’t expect anything more than email and texting. I was able to download some websites when the Park was almost empty but it was slow. No worse than other RV parks. The vistas are amazing. We cancelled going to Stovepipe Wells because Panamint was much prettier. There is a dirt and rock airstrip behind the restaurant and it was fun to watch a twin engine plane land on the challenging sloped runway (land uphill, take off downhill). Darwin Falls is a short drive and easy hike west of the location. We will be back again soon.

For Panamint Springs Resort: Agree with other reviewers. Way over priced, terrible bathrooms. Would never stay again. Oh yes, they were asking for nearly $5.00/gal for diesel. Clearly out to gouge there customers.

For Panamint Springs Resort: Worst camp ground ever stated in. Hookups broken down and not maintained. Stones in driving areas and campsite were like you find on unmaking aimed roads and could cause tire problems. Bathrooms barely passable as long as you don't want to take a shower in front of others.

Pond Master

For Panamint Springs Resort: We stayed in the campground for one night with our class b leisure van. November 9, 2014. Rates were high we thought @ $35. for a serviced site compared to most other campgrounds. They also charged a pet fee for our small dog, which I thought was a money grab as we keep our pet inside our van and keep him on a leash. Owner said it was due to the damage that the dogs do? Perhaps if that was the case they could either reimburse if there is no damage or charge owners of pets who do damage. It is a determinant for responsible pet owners to have to pay this fee.
The women's restroom was deplorable as only one of two stalls was working and it was pretty grungy. The showers were dirty with garbage inside the shower stall and were not useable. I felt sorry for the tenters who had no other options. The campsite location and the scenery was amazing especially at night with the stars. The camp office gas bar lights shone brightly into the campsite, marring an otherwise perfect night sky viewing. The campsites are generous, and the location is amazing. Would have given 4 stars but unfortunately, the owners did not provide the basics one expects. We have been on the road for four months now, traveling across Canada and the USA, and have stayed in both private and government campsites along the way. ( first time asked for a pet fee)
