For Lake Amador RV Park: I saw review from someone who didn't like this place and left. I wanted to add some details & a different perspective. We didn't camp at the RV camping lot, so I can't comment on that area. I did see some trailer homes in a different area of the park, but I don't believe that was the same place as the RV lot.

We decided to dry camp ($30/night) so that we could have an amazing view of the lake. Most of the camping spots were reserved or taken, but there was an area the site staff told us we could camp that was undesignated (no site numbers). There was lots of space and they said it was first come first serve and we can camp anywhere along the lake. So we did, and it was AWESOME! Everything was clean. No trash (except the odd plastic baggie or soda can near the lake shore). People were very nice, quiet and considerate for the most part (except for a boat fisherman dropping the f-bomb several times with our 11 year old son on the shore, a little annoying, but that was it). It was Easter weekend and it was busy, but not so crowded that you could hear your neighbors snore.

I love that they had a cafe onsite for a snack, billiards and bait. The staff was super friendly in the cafe. The swimming pond was closed (seasonal?) but there was a fun-looking frisbee golf course (if only I knew how to play! You can buy frisbees at the cafe, too). The lake is stocked well with a variety of fish and people were pulling fish all over the place. There is an RV waste dump by the fishing clean-out area near the exit (that wasn't listed on this app, glad we asked another RV camper & didn't have to drive somewhere else and pay to dump our waste). All the RVs we saw were very nice, late-model RVs.

The area isn't what some would call upscale and the roads at the resort are a little bumpy because of all the filled potholes, but if you can drive slow and don't mind home-town/down-to-earth folks, this is a fabulous place! If it had more hook-ups by the lake and resurfaced roads I would have given it 5 stars.

For Lake Amador RV Park: Zero stars. This is by far the worst RV park I have ever seen. In all of our travels this is the most scary thing we have seen. Old falling apart junky trailers with junk piled everywhere with mean dogs inside fences and tied to doghouses. Every trailer was a permanent resident and it was terrible! Treacherous and awful bumpy roads with huge potholes. Very sketchy and questionable! I can't imagine that these residents pay the fee we were asked to pay of $40 per night. We went straight back to the office and asked for our money back and left. Office lady/bartender said that people look like we did and ask for their money back all of the time.
