For Chatham Lakes Campground: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Management is mean and rude for no reason. There are constant issues that require authorities to respond easily once a week. There are multiple health and safety hazards. The playgrounds are falling apart. We witnessed violence, assault, bias, and favoritism. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I hated. Do not bring your family here.

For Chatham Lakes Campground: We stayed here overnight on our way south for the winter. The campground is closed but, the camp host was kind enough to let us stay the night since the campground had not been winterized yet. The rate was $30/night and included full hookups (50A).

The campground was recently purchased by a new owner and has been renamed Chatham Lakes Campground. The new name is present on Google Maps but, Garmin stubbornly retains the old name.

The site the camp host chose for us was vacated by a seasonal camper. The site had a lot of tall brush and weeds at the back and poison ivy growing adjacent to the gravel trailer pad. There were other open sites in better shape; not sure why the camp host selected this one (109) for us. Besides the weeds, the other key issue is the smell of the water in the bathhouse. There is a distinct and strong odor of rotten eggs, or hydrogen sulfide in the water. The bathhouse is very basic and small and doesn't seem large enough to support the number of campsites in this large park. The new owner is adding sites to the park.

The camp host was very friendly and pleasant.

State Road 83 is adjacent to the campground and road noise was noticeable most of the time.

Strong Verizon and AT&T cell service at the campground.

I'd stay here again in a pinch but, I'd look around the area to see what else was available first. The site quality and the water odor are the key negatives, particularly the water odor.

For Chatham Lakes Campground: Clean and nice. Pretty good deal on the rate too.
