For Stillwell Store and RV Park: Ready to see a ‘ghost town’ RV park? Desire remote quiet solitude, expansive desert vistas? Here it is, with certain exceptions. If anywhere near full, this park would be a teeming anthill. Fortunately, we shared the huge property with never more than five other campers for a week in January. Old decrepit house trailers remain standing that give the place a ghost town vibe. Many functional but empty RV sites. The ‘sites’ in a bare rock parking lot are ridiculously close - two RV’s parallel facing opposite would share each utility pedestal, and a door mat if friendly. . Warnings are issued about infringing on another site, although there is no delineation whatsoever. The laundry is dirty and cluttered. Dark sky? Forget it. Bright parking lot lights glare all night. A sign by the office door proclaims that the manager has no social skills. That is not a joke, it is an understatement. The assistant was friendly, however. No cell service, WiFi only at the little store. The website clearly states that this is not a resort, another understatement. There is no evidence of maintenance, much less improvement. This could be a wonderful desert resort, with just a bit of ambition. Unfortunately , it is obviously a tax write off for the absentee owner. My advice - reserve a site in the National Park.

For Stillwell Store and RV Park: Excellent basic RV campground right in Big Bend county if you’re visiting the National Park. We stayed6 nights in a 50 amp full hookup site. We are traveling with friends which is good because the sites face each other and share a picnic table and fire ring. The store has basic needs and also a great museum about the Stilwell family. Staff very friendly.

For Stillwell Store and RV Park: Stayed in a full hook up spot and considering you’re 50 miles from the middle of nowhere it had everything we needed. The store has your basic items and a decent WiFi signal at the store to check in with civilization and only 10 minutes from the Park entrance. The new Dinosaur exhibit is only 20 minutes, Panther Junction is about 30 minutes, Chisos Basin is about 40 and Santa Elena is a little over an hour. One thing you’ll learn is no matter where you stay, even in the park, you can have an hour drive to each end of the park. If yiu want authentic West Texas vibes then stay here. No cell signal, tons of stars and friendly people.

Cindy

For Stillwell Store and RV Park: We arrived to stay 3 nights. Fell in love with the ranch and its history, so we paid to stay a month. Peaceful and beautiful. Close to Big Bend National Park. We drive 70 miles for groceries, and make it last 10-14 days. Great area for our dogs to walk, and we ride our bikes through the desert. It’s an old ranch. If you want to get away from it all, and enjoy reading, hiking, biking and big night sky views, I recommend this place. $475 for a month with full hook ups, laundry, and a store I personally enjoy visiting.

Pierre

For Stillwell Store and RV Park: We were a bit anxious in light of the less than stellar recent reviews but we were pleasantly surprised and extended our stay from 2 to 4 days in order to explore more of the area. Indeed it's an older park but bathrooms were clean. Pull-through gravel site was level w/ good electric and water and owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Price was right ($26 for full hook up(30 amp)) and location was ideal for visiting GB NP, Black Gap WMA, Terlingua ghost town and GB Ranch State Park. Visiting Hallie's Museum is well worth it. I have no reservations about staying there again.

For Stillwell Store and RV Park: Good place to stay if park is full but you are looking at a 100 mile round trip to park daily plus whatever you drive in the park - we stayed 3-4 days

Julie

For Stillwell Store and RV Park: This place is very run down! It was nice to be close to the park entrance of Big Bend but the owner is VERY RUDE and not a happy person. Forget WiFi that’s a false advertisement. You were not allow to put paper in the toilet. The museum was very interesting though
