Bbenton

For Americas Campground and Lodging: Stayed a few days while taking care of business. Close and convenient to Rapid City. Level spots, not too cramped, but no trees, shade, or picnic table. Very friendly staff and fellow campers. Very good WiFi. Free SD Air and Space Museum just up the road, and the chance to see a B1 Bomber taking off from Ellsworth AFB.

Porkchop4

For Americas Campground and Lodging: I called a week in advance and made an appointment. I drove 60 miles only to find they have no record of my appointment but if I waited a couple hours they could help me. If the can’t keep track of appointments I don’t trust them with my mail/registration.

romstead

For Americas Campground and Lodging: Really nice folks, but the park is under construction and has no water at the Rv sites. They do let you fill your fresh water tanks from there outside water spigot on their main building. The 30 and 50amp power works for each RV site. The sites were level but can get muddy of there is wet weather. There is no bath house or laundry you need to go to the Flying J which has very nice showers and laundry next door, and a very nice convenience store and restaurant with buffet and salad bar. We have a 26ft class C with 30amp I wold stay again but not for more than a couple of days. Again the staff is very busy but Very friendly lots of folks coming and going

Coastie

For Americas Campground and Lodging: Very busy this time of year. Stayed two nites dry camping then moved to a 50amp electric site. Needed lots of blocks to get level. The staff tries hard to accommodate you, but they are busy and have many reservations. Have stayed here in the past and will stay again, but with reservations well in advance. Stayed in a 40' motorhome.

Sinusitis

For Americas Campground and Lodging: I guess there is no "quiet time" here. 6:00 AM we were awakened by excessive barking from three dogs. They were fenced in the small yard of A very old trailer that had plywood skirting. It looked permanent. We made a reservation for a drive through site. I pointed out to the person taking the reservation that we did not want to unhook our car and we were only staying one night. We had to drive up over a curb to get into our "drive-through" spot. Then, just as we were getting settled in, a man walked up and said we had his spot. They double booked. He was very gracious but had to find a temporary place until the next day.
