For Blue Heron Marina and Campground: Blue Heron Campground was surprisingly nice! We wanted an autumn getaway on Crab Orchard Lake and decided to give Blue Heron a try. They take no reservations so you take a chance on availability, but if you’re patient, you can get a nice spot. The entire campground is on the lake so there’s a view of the water from almost every site. We stayed right on the waters edge at site D34. It was so beautiful and kinda private because it’s at the end. There are several sites is section D that are on the water and many others near the marina. The camp host was such a sweetheart! It isn’t full hookup but there’s a dump station. Of course, water and electricity at each site. We can’t wait to come back next summer for another peaceful camping trip.

For Blue Heron Marina and Campground: Very nice campground being run into the ground by the people on the board. They ride thru the campground all hours on golf carts looking for ways to harass the people camping that are not on the buddy list. This is very sad that the state allows this to take place. It was once a private club on state property that is now open for public use. These people think they are above everyone else and are so rude you would not believe. I will never go back as long as the state allows this behavior to continue and recommend to stay away from this place until the state does takes control there.

For Blue Heron Marina and Campground: Well around a week (around Sept 12-16) after posting my ROYCE The As***** was removed from his hosted so we all decided to try again so this past week we camped 4 of us and I wish to say without Royce it was an awesome time even though he did show up to talk with the cousins and is still spreading the manure as he has been mad president or something over the board (but I know better) the new Hostess was great and so accommodating it was a whole new experience with Royce being no-longer in the picture get rid of that hateful, racist, bigoted, foul mouth man (that claims he's a Kentuckian but me being born and breed there I know he's not we don't allow As***** to be breed and raised in Ky.) So Please do not allow him to ever be associated with the Blue Heron Marina and Campground I am Considering to making it one of my favorite spots so long as the hostess remain as great as the one there this past week. Great Job to whom ever got rid of Royce! Sincerely, ETA disabled VET.

For Blue Heron Marina and Campground: Was there over the holiday weekend, I am a veteran and disabled so my wife and her cousin and his wife and I took our jointly owned golf cart because of my being blown up in the abdomen and shot 5 times i have a hard time walking very far the host and I use this loosely said to drive a golfcart a person had to be permanently Disabled, now I have the access pass plus proof (Illinois ID P2A) but was told I had to be chauffeured instead of being allowed to drive myself to the JON @ 3:00am whats up with this ? at first was told I had to have all the above documents which I was the only one in the party with them but when I produced the documents the old A hole got mean and said I was putting him in a predicament as he was only going to let the cousins wife drive the golf cart who had no documents, talk about red neck host.
