For Gerstle Cove - Salt Point State Park: The majority of the park is lovely with private campsites. Sites 20-23 should be considered a group site. Very disappointing - cars parked so closed to one another that if you opened you door fully you will ding your neighbor’s door. I will only return if I can obtain a site in 1-19.

For Gerstle Cove - Salt Point State Park: Stayed February 13, and 14, 2020. My original reservation was for site 21. It was narrow, close to neighbor, sloped severely, was dark, close to the road, and I could get no cell service for Verizon even with a booster. This for 35$? Most of the more open better spaced sites are on the right when you first enter the campground loop. Staff let me move to overflow parking, basically a paved parking lot which slants downhill but at least it is open and you have a view of the ocean and is a good place to walk from. Good satellite and Verizon reception, only two other campers in the lot so this time of year not busy. Saw deer, turkeys, and I could hear seals.

For Gerstle Cove - Salt Point State Park: Park gets 5 stars for day use and hiking opportunities. It’s beautiful Camp ground is situated in the woods with most of it shaded and damp. Upper loop portion (numbers above #15 is close to highway 1, so be aware of road noise. The kicker of this place is the possibility to pull your RV into the over flow lot. It has a gorgeous view on the coast and is first come first serve. Be aware of possible strong winds

For Gerstle Cove - Salt Point State Park: We love this park. The campground has sites that are far enough apart, you feel you have some privacy. It's about 1/3 mile down the hill to the cove and great hiking trails! There is potable water, recycling, clean bathrooms, and enough of a ranger presence to feel safe. We stayed in a 24 foot travel trailer in late Oct, this year, and early Nov, last year. We can always count on this park to be just what we need!

For Gerstle Cove - Salt Point State Park: Tent camped for 1 night. Very quiet area & sites spaced nicely apart. No showers but flush toilets & electric in the bathroom to blow up our air mattresses. $35 self registration in off season. Can not see the ocean but recommended for privacy.

For Gerstle Cove - Salt Point State Park: A pretty good state park in California. I say that meaning better than some others I have been to at least.
