For Lake Cleveland West Campground: After reading reviews on Lake Cleveland campground we decided to go. At the time I did not understand there is a West and an East Lake Cleveland. Also was not aware of the 8000ft we would need to climb to get to our destination. We took our truck camper up the winding, cliffs of the mountain. Beautiful is not enough to describe the views. We went to the west side and were able to turn around in the campground due to us being in a truck camper. Had we been in an RV we would have been in trouble since the turns are tight. This is where it is important to know the difference between east and west Lake Cleveland. East can accommodate rvs as I have read but did not experience since I went to the west side. We were able to squeeze onto a site. $10 for site $5 with an access pass. Lake is beautiful with lots of fish jumping. Two eagles diving for the fish and a deer in my campsite was amazing. Outhouse was in need of cleaning and fire pit hadn’t been cleaned in quite awhile as it was almost full. Never saw a ranger or host. One other family staying the night the place was very quiet and peaceful. We made our way out and down the mountain the next day. Be careful for stock in the road as two stepped out in front of us. I will always remember this place for its beauty and wildlife.
