For Presque Isle - Porcupine Mountains State Park: Wow!! Talk about secluded. This is truly a primitive campground off the beaten path. Large staircase down to Lake Superior (rocky beach). Near an amazing hiking trail and suspension bridge to beautiful forest and waterfalls. The scenery here is spectacular. Note, it’s very far from the dump station or any kind of civilization. Went end of July and flies were crazy, you need a screen tent area for sure.

For Presque Isle - Porcupine Mountains State Park: Beautiful! We recommend a site on the water if available (we had #4). We woke each morning to Lake Superior right through our windows and watched the sunset from our hammock each evening. Great breeze off the lake and easy access to a great hike with views of several waterfalls. It’s a long 25 mile drive to the other end of the state park (and the dump station). Since we were headed home to Minnesota, we learned of a private campground in Wakefield WI (Eddy Campground on Sunday Lake, I believe) who charged only $5 to dump.

For Presque Isle - Porcupine Mountains State Park: Amazing! Steps from great hiking. Our site was waterfront and we cooked and watched sunset over the water each night. A bit of a trek to the water, which was cold, but after 5 days when we had to leave we wished we had 5 more. Our favorite campground yet! Wish the state would bring back the dump site so we could have left never stays in the future! Read flies could be an issue but we were there in early August with no problems.
