For Big Wood River RV Park: Stayed in mid-May; maybe only five sites being used. We're car campers and travel with a tent outhouse, so the lack of restrooms didn't particularly bother us, although it's definitely a drawback. The confusing map posted at the park stated restrooms were available at nearby fairgrounds, but we could not find them. The designated tent sites were set apart with a fence, and not level at all. We found a pretty picnic site to camp in, with trees and boulders. Traffic is close, but not heavy, and we only heard one distant train. We heard chorus frogs and several species of birds. I think we paid $5 for our tent site. We would stay again.

For Big Wood River RV Park: Great stopping place. Called the number and talked to Jamie, who was sweet as agree could be and very helpful. There are a few trees, but it's not particularly shady. Has really nice cement pads; ours was completely level (#1). Right by the train tracks so we heard a train whistle in the middle of the night and some road noise but very quiet compared to a truck stop or Walmart parking lot. Great deal too. $15/night for water and power. We were very happy with it.
