For Carl Park: This is a smaller park with a few tables and grills. Parking is on grass that is very thick like most of the south but not something we are used to being from the west coast. No toilet or water but if you require those options there is an RV park called Odo’s near the dirt road entrance to this county park. If you are traveling from the east, cross bridge and go about 300-500 feet to find the dirt road entrance on the left. If you are coming from the west, be aware that the entrance is 300-500 feet prior to road bridge and water, if you miss it you may be able to turn around right after the bridge. There are two trash cans but they were overflowing probably due to us being there on Monday after the nice weekend. There is a boat ramp that is dirt but if you want to fish there is a really nice and long boardwalk type platform that goes the length of the park along the water. ATT & Verizon were both 2 bars LTE. There is road noise but very little in the evening hours. Be aware of rain in this area due to the dirt road, the ground appears to get very soft and you could get stuck as we were able to see many spots that showed signs of vehicle ruts that are very deep. This also appears to be a meeting place for people in the early evening hours - what they were doing is unknown...making out, hanging out, drug deals (I made up all sorts of scenarios). All and all though it was a good overnight spot on a Monday in early December.

For Carl Park: Obviously a local party site. Great cell signal. I picked up a bag of trash before fixing some dinner and retiring. The next day a couple of sheriff vehicles pulled up next to me to run my driver's license and question me. (I am a clean and unthreatening middle aged female traveling in a van with a housecat.) I was going to stay a second day but decided that, even though the police were polite, this was my invitation to move on. Nice boondocking spot; not the greatest local reception.
