For Bar J Hitching Post RV: Great road stop for overnight. Nice staff, nice sites. By the interstate so you have highway noise….but that is what makes it so convenient.

For Bar J Hitching Post RV: An OK rest stop when traveling. Right off I20 beside a Loves travel stop and near a railroad track so a bit noisy but not terrible. Pleasant staff. Long and wide sites with lots of grass. Some trees but limited shade. Sites are reasonably level and hard packed. However definitely a “no frills” campground. There is a laundry, though we didn’t use it so no assessment. No picnic tables or anything other than hookups at the sites. Very limited cable tv (13 channels). WiFi seems to be pretty good but the campground wasn’t very full.

For Bar J Hitching Post RV: Lisa the park manager DENIED SERVICE TO A UNITED STATES MARINE CORP VETERAN with a service animal due to a “weight restriction”. I contacted them during business hours to discuss the matter; I was told they have the right to refuse service to anyone they want for any reason. While that may be true, Americans with Disabilities fall under a protected class by the federal government. YOU CANNOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THEM! I’m appalled by the misconduct and level of disrespect by the office staff, Lisa and Male who refused to provide his name at Bar J Hitchin Post. The staff had no interest in making this right. The ADA requires State and local government agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations (covered entities) that provide goods or services to the public to make "reasonable modifications" in their policies, practices, or procedures when necessary to accommodate people with disabilities. The service animal rules fall under this general principle. Accordingly, entities that have a “no pets”, “breed restrictions”, “weight restrictions” policy generally MUST MODIFY the policy to ALLOW service animals into their facilities. (ada.gov) Lisa refused to make such reasonable modification to park policy weight limit. Service animals are not pets. They are trained to perform a service/task to individuals with disabilities. My family was more than inconvenienced by their discriminatory actions. I will do everything in my power to ensure the staff of this business cannot continue discriminating against Disabled Veterans!

For Bar J Hitching Post RV: Clean facility. Nice staff. While not a park for vacation, it is an outstanding spot for a night off from the road.

For Bar J Hitching Post RV: Front desk lady with short grey hair is rude and purposely unfriendly. She sits on couch and watches TV instead of answering the phone and then acts annoyed when you go inside to get the help you needed. Wanted to book 2 extra nights and she told me I was bothering her by coming inside. Then one day she came to my campsite and accused me in front of my kids of tying my dog up to a tree and letting my kids play outside alone. I told her its never happened and offered to show her we dont have anything but his leash to walk him with and she kept accusing me. She stated our car was gone on the day she saw this and the kids were outside alone. I informed her my husband was traveling with us of course so if the car is gone it doesn't mean both adults are and instead of guessing what she thinks is happening from the office she should've driven to our campsite to see us in chairs like were are now as she trying to accuse us of stuff. My kids were playing on the side of the RV you could view from the office while we sat in shade on the side facing away from the office. The dog was on a leash hanging out with the kids while I held the leash. Because she only saw the dog and kids she made up a story then came to accuse me of it. You DON'T EVER ACCUSE ME OF LEAVING MY KIDS ALONE ANYWHERE WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF A MOM I AM. INSULTING AND WRONG!! I finally had to say 3 times that I wasn't going to argue in front of my kids to get her to stop harassing us at our site. YOU DONT ACCUSE PAYING CUSTOMERS OF THINGS YOU DONT HAVE THE WHOLE TRUTH OF!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE TELLING YOU THE TRUTH. She didn't want to hear anything just accuse us!! Rude! Unprofessional and hateful employees!! We got stuck camping here after our car broke down with our family going crosscountry. That stress is enough much less having to deal with terrible employees. Compassion is everything and I'll never stay here again from just that one employee experience!

For Bar J Hitching Post RV: Agree with the other reviews. Great for an over night stop. Good Verizon. Easy in, out. Staff friendly and super easy to get in and out of. Will come again if ever in the area.

For Bar J Hitching Post RV: This is the kind of RV park we are all looking for when traveling. Spacious sites, 50 amp, lots of pull-throughs, level enough, friendly and efficient staff. Good interior roads, shade but no low tree limbs, good grass with no stickers. The truck stop across the road was busy but not too loud. There’s no pool but nobody uses one anyway. I’m keeping track of this one and will stop here again.
