For Nine Mile Recreation Area - Riverside State Park: A small WA State Park with 6 parallel RV sites, E/W situated above a grassy slope about 8’ high. The backin sites are relatively close together, I’d say 15’ between RVs. Lovely spot overlooking the Spokane River (aka Long Lake) so it seems like a lake. Many duck and white geese. A nice swimming area and place for boating of all types including kayaks and SUPs. Lots of folks come to fish and launch their boats on this 27 mile lake (a local said it was this long). This lake was created when Long Lake dam was constructed in 1915, and at that time was the highest spillway and the largest turbines in the world, according to the reader boards at the dam. This place I have heard, and don’t doubt it, is hard to get into during the summer due to the water activities and places for kids to keep busy. We came in late September and is quiet and reservations can be had. Not full while here. Clean bathrooms, and park. One’s stay depends on who the neighbors are, as in cases where the RVs are parallel like this. We would return when in the area.

For Nine Mile Recreation Area - Riverside State Park: Thought it was a lovely campground. It’s small with about 12 sites for RV on a grassy meadow about 15yds from the lake. Close to your neighbors but all RV sites are. Best part was the accessibility to the paved bike trail(centennial trail) 40 miles of paved trail that is gorgeous.

For Nine Mile Recreation Area - Riverside State Park: Amazing views. Campsites are right on the river with bald eagles flying around. Campgrounds offer paddle boards and cayaks to rent. Only 22 camp sites so area doesn’t get too busy. Bad parts - sites are tiny so if you have a bad neighbor it could be a bad couple days and no sewer hookups (not that big a deal for a few days). We would stay there again.

For Nine Mile Recreation Area - Riverside State Park: Washington State is disorganized and neglectful of its campground users. Central reservations is a joke. They cannot even tell you if a campground has paved access roads. They gave us a reservation for "their last available site" at this nine mile campground claiming it was a full hook up. Turns out the sewer part was broken....out of use. Many sites were open. The sites are on the water and grassy on lower level. However, they tell you you have to park your vehicle on the upper level, which involves climbing and descending a high steep dirt embankment with no stairs down to sites. When you ask why all the other campers are allowed to keep their vehicles on the lower level, they say those people "have a hardship". None of them had handicapped signs in their windows. The bathrooms are substandard and require money. There are no campfire rings on most of the sites. Gravel and dusty if you are on upper level. Gravel road in to campground. A very nice volunteer lady did all the cleaning and painting...
