For By The Lake RV Resort: I don’t understand the bad review! We were very happy with our overnight stay. The park is very clean and well maintained. The laundry room was spacious and clean. The sits are approximately 25 feet apart with concrete pads and grass spaces. The water and electric equipment was in good working order. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

For By The Lake RV Resort: The grounds are well kept and paved. The pool looked nice but we didn’t use. The playground was decent as was the dog park. The bathroom/shower are awful - dirty and water pressure is so low. They don’t have fire pits. There are almost no trashcans but one dumpster at the front — and the train kept the kids up a good chunk of the night. Decent for the night.

For By The Lake RV Resort: Stayed there last May for 10 days. Loved the area and lake. The park was nice but the shower was not good had to fight the wasp and the tiles falling off wall. Just needs more attention. Husband and wife work campers were great.

For By The Lake RV Resort: We really wanted to like this park, it has great reviews and a decent location.

I will start with the good parts of our experience.
Easy to find, good access, wide driveways/roads, brand new facilities. The dog park (more like a dog run) was very large and well kept. We did not use the bath house or laundry facility, but the both looked nice. Water pressure was excellent and the concrete site was level. The location was both good and horrible at the same time. Close enough to arbuckle wilderness, turner falls, and a couple of other attractions. Keep reading for the down side.

Now, for the not so good.
We changed our reservation length before our arrival, because of the weather forecast. The staff, which was somewhat helpful, said we would have to go through RoverPass?. Keep in mind we tried to work with them up to this point and have not had much luck. We finally got a reply from RoverPass, saying the park still had us checked in and leaving on the 23rd. That's funny, because we checked out on the 22nd. Definitely will not be using RoverPass again.

The lady who checked us in was very direct and to the point, not much more. She wasn't rude or disrespectful, just wasn't very pleasant.

My kids and wife quickly found their way to the play ground, while I was setting things up. We have 2 year old twins and 2 older preteens. This playground was acceptable for the older kids, but DEFINITELY NOT for a 2 year old.

The worst part about this park is the close proximity to a very active railroad. By active I mean, active at all times of the day and night. You can only imagine what this was like with 2 year old twins.

The crappy'est part of the park was the sewer dump was actually right at the same height or just above the dump valves on our 5'er. This provided to be rather challenging.

For By The Lake RV Resort: Called ahead and booked for a 2 night stay. This place is near I-35 for easy off and on but far enough that we weren't disturbed by highway noise. Very professional staff helped us pick a site most convenient for our stay. Lots of pull-through spots were available. We asked to be near the laundry so that put us in a premium site at $38 per night with our Good Sam's discount. The spots are level concrete pads with picnic tables. The laundry and bath/showers were the cleanest I've seen in an RV park in a while. We needed our rig washed and they have a local guy that provides this service at reasonable prices. There are back-in sites too but we opted for a pull-through spot. The pool is closed but it looks like it would be refreshing in the summer. It's a new park so the trees have a few years to grow before providing shade but Lake Murray is close by and you can always cool off in the pool. Another big plus is it's less than 8 miles to the town of Ardmore where you can stock up on groceries and supplies. We will be back!

For By The Lake RV Resort: New park. Great facilities, clean and spacious. Nice clubhouse and pool area. Staff are very helpful. Easy access from highway, and very close to state park. Good for family getaways or quick stops. Only downside was some train noise.
