For Bells Island Campground: If you want an RV 'resort', this is not the place. No pool, clubhouse, scheduled activities, etc. But if you want something on the water, quiet, with beautiful sunrises, and only 30 minutes north of the Outer Banks, then this is the place. And zero road noise. There is a bathhouse, old but clean, if you aren't self-contained. There are fulltime folks, as well as quite a few folks who have rigs on sites but only come in on the weekends, however they all keep their rigs and yards clean, are friendly, and we've never had a problem with noise. Stayed here once in the summer, and like any place near water there are bugs, but not intolerable. We usually stay over the winter holidays, and the park is really quiet. A bit tight getting our 43' 5th wheel and big pickup into our spot, but doable with a bit of patience.

For Bells Island Campground: We were headed for our first camping trip, tired at 9 pm on the hwy. We googled closes camp and came across this one. The guy was nice, in rain he made sure we got settled in and took care of! We don’t get his kindness these days anymore! Very clean and friendly camp! We will definitely be back!
