For Old Stove Road Campground: The site itself is very quaint and minimal, with one fire pit, and one picnic table. The only issue is the trek; while the actual trail there isn’t overly intense, be prepared for catastrophic levels of mosquitoes. Bugs in those woods are bad enough, but unless you make the trek covered head to toe in some kind of screen, you are doomed to get swarmed to the point of them attempting to even bite through your clothes. The payoff sight-wise is also minimal; while maps insist that the site is on the river, there exists a decent amount of dead swamp between the riverfront and the fire pit. The rest of the site is almost indistinguishable from the rest of the trail, which is a testament to how isolated and untouched this site it. There was also not many good trees for me and my crew to hang hammocks from, as many are dead, which was a bummer. To some, that may be a gem of a campsite, but to us, it was not. Between the unbearable amount of bugs, to the rather drab campsite grounds, definitely a site that is worth reconsidering.
