For Great Salt Lake Park: Partial hookups, dump station on site. Close to beautiful salt flats. Surrounded by snow capped mountains. 20 mins from Salt Lake City. Small park but was able to snag one of the sites. Priced well and staff was very friendly.

For Great Salt Lake Park: NO!, Don't do this campground. We considered ourselves so lucky when we were able to grab one of the 5 sites here. Upon arrival, we were a little disappointed...which grew into a greater disappointment. The road leading into the campground is gravel/dirt and very rough, then suddenly it is paved, and then back to gravel/dirt. Pulling into the campground/parking lot we had a difficult time getting our 5th wheel into the site. The parking lot is used by people going to the visitors center and walking along the beach of the Salt Lake, so of course, people were parked directly across from where we had to back into our site (site 5). My husband is a seasoned camper, and has backed into many crazy sites, but this one challenged him. Now the sites are like lava rock, the size of your fist and bigger. Not good on tires, and difficult to walk on. Before he backed in we “picked stones.” We had full hookups, but when we tried to connect the water, we found the water valve was broken. Again, with the right parts my husband could probably have fixed it, but this wasn’t just a washer fix) We immediately reported the broken water spigot to the Park Host. Day 2 at 9am, we again reported the broken water spigot to the Ranger at registration, Day 3 at 9am, we again reported the broken water spigot to the Ranger Station and then asked for the Manager/Boss. At 2:00pm on day 3, there was a knock at the door. A park ranger heard we had an issue, but didn’t know what it was. ???? Really! Husband showed him the problem. Ranger said this is the first he heard of it. We ask for some type of compensation, we are paying for full hookups but now minus the water. Ranger, “sorry about that, but no compensation.” Ranger said he would get someone to fix it. At 3pm, knock at the door. Maintenance man, Just letting us know he would be working on the water spigot. He worked for about 10 minutes and was gone….never saw him again. We left at 6:30am on Day 4. This campground has 5 sites, a camp host, and no one to fix a water spigot? Did I mention the bugs? They don’t bite, but they are all over, to the point the closer you get to the beach it looks like the ground moves under your feet. Did I mention the smell? Did I mention the litter strewn parking lot? Did I mention the rude visitors that walked through our site to get to the beach? (There were many paths for visitors to take, but they chose ours) UGGH. We are seasoned campers,( I was camping as an infant with my parents.) I am now past retirement age. We have seen and been through all kinds of camping situations. We tolerate lots of things while camping, but this place took 1st place on “Not this campground” list. Sorry for the rant, there is a bathroom at the end of the parking lot. Did not use it. Couldn’t even tell you if it had showers. On a side note: The Salt Lake is at its lowest in history. We stayed at Great Salt Lake State Park in July of 2021.

For Great Salt Lake Park: You must read the fine print of the confirmation email. If you don’t get here early enough then you’ll be locked out! Fortunately some other guest happened to come along and let us in.....
