For Desert Moon Hotel and RV Park: The campsites themselves are fine, level, gravel, water / electric, and the WiFi worked fine. There are only 19 total spots, of which 6 (at the time of our visit appear to be permanently occupied. The four that were open did have shade though. We presumed it’d be fine for a home base from which to do day trips - but…. The park is a hundred feet from a VERY active freight rail line and we had big, loud freight trains blaring their horns all night, making for a terrible nights sleep.

For Desert Moon Hotel and RV Park: Best thing about the facility is the fact that you can make your reservation online. I chose site #9 because it was described as having grass, shade and a view. When we got here she told us that the place is first come, first serve so just pick a spot. There is not a blade of grass anywhere. Some shade trees and a view but mostly dust and dirt. They do have full hookup but that is it. I asked about WiFi and was told it only works if you are very close to the “hotel.†There are fittings to connect a cable but was told that they don’t work. If you are only looking for a place to stop for the night you might like it. Nothing deluxe or pretty about this place. At $50 a night I would say it is way overpriced.
