For Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreation Lake: Nice park for an overnight stop. All sites have sewer!!! Clean bathroom. Shower needs better drainage. We arrived at 9PM on a Wednesday. There’s no office, no signage about late arrivals. We occupied a site and had a good night. At 7AM we got a very loud persistent knock on the door. The self appointed “camp host” told us we were trespassing and we needed to go to city hall to pay a fine and if we didn’t leave immediately we’d be sorry because he was calling the police. So I called the phone number listed on the website. The nice lady at city hall told me that the mean man was not a park employee and that we were not trespassing. She kindly took credit card payment over the phone and mailed me a receipt. Overall nice, except for Mr. Scrooge.

For Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreation Lake: Campground has full hookups with concrete pads. It has a great view of the lake. No lake access for boats from campground. Have to drive over to Office and store area to do that. Doesn't have any shade trees, playground, walking trails, or anything else.
