For Black Beach Campground: Perfect location for a base camp for exploring the North Shore. We could spend a couple days just walking down from the campsite to the beach and scrambling over all the rocks and beaches. Then Tettegouche is less than 10 miles away. Our campsite (37) was far from level but like others said, leveling our 5th wheel wasn’t challenging with leveling blocks. We stayed Sun-Tues and the road and campground was very quiet and I saw the water truck several times, spraying the road to the beach so there was no dust from the road.

For Black Beach Campground: Basically nice park. Big gravel sites, not level and required blocks to adjust. Gravel interior roads too. Our site #27 was just off access road to Black Beach. Constant traffic, high speeds, and cars/trucks kicking up dust. Everything at our site coated with road dirt/dust. All interior roads need to be paved.

For Black Beach Campground: Nice campground . Right off highway but noise level very manageable . Our site, 16 had issues with back third of the gravel Belen soft as butter. Based on number of holes in ground , I’m not the only one to sink my jacks. After shifting forward (huge size site), we found solid ground but needed to use extra lengths for all connections . This should by fine for trailers but needs work to handle a 38’ class A. Easy access to beach and to Silver Bay. Grand Portage is about 1 1/2 hour drive north. Two Harbors is about an hour south with traffic. We saw locals staying for a bit and fast overnight campers. Tents seem to be out in open with little shade but several folks using them. Sites are gravel. Mostly not level based on number of blocks I and most others were using.

For Black Beach Campground: Very nice and clean campground. It has a great shower house that is well lit and clean. Black Beach is just down the road from the campground within walking distance, centrally located to visit all the state parks along the shore, jumped on the bike trail in Beaver Bay, and the UTV trail goes right by the campground so everything you want to do is easily accessible. We went here to escape the 90 degree heat wave and it did not disappoint. We had 70’s all week with a nice breeze from Lake Superior! Would definitely stay again!
