For Beyond the Trail RV Park: We stayed here for one night, just passing through and couldn’t find anything with decent ratings on the West side of St. Louis. Came in off of 70, be prepared for steep & winding roads for the 15 miles to the park. The entrance is tight & not well marked: turn into the •Good Eats• parking lot and you’ll find the RV park entrance behind it. Upon arriving there’s no one at the office, no one answers the phone, which is fine the park isn’t huge. It’s definitely in upgrade/new park mode right now. New tight sites, new gravel (somewhat uneven). Lots of standing water which meant mud. Issues this morning dumping the tanks, their septic system wouldn’t drain any further, don’t know if it was the excess rain or just needed to be emptied, but we couldn’t dump 100%. Leaving was a bit tight, we’re in a 40’ 5th wheel. One of the guests had to pull their pickup forward so we could fit through. As far as the positives, you’re within walking distance to several eating options. A little brewery sits just minutes away. Wouldn’t travel all the way off the highway for this park again…then again if you have no options (like us!) then this’ll have to do!! fyi, Paid $48 for one night.

For Beyond the Trail RV Park: This park appears new and is expanding. It is right next to the Katy Trail and will be great for active guests. There are lots of Bugs & water though. Many sites appear uneven. Better gravel layering could help. The property doesn’t drain well even though the owners have made attempts. Grass still trying to fill in. There appears to be an irrigation creek running along side the park that supports an abundance of bugs. 20 ton bridge at the entrance will keep out some of the bigger rigs. Good pizza and brew place 4 minutes away. If the owners focus on some of these issues this could be a 5 star RV park!!

For Beyond the Trail RV Park: If you love to bike and drink wine this is the place for you. You are in the heart of Missouri wine country and next to the Katy Trail. As of this review the campground is brand new and in the middle of an expansion. The sites are close together and only and the only ones with shade are along the trail. All sites are full hookup. Being nestled on former corn fields they are very few level sites so be prepared for that. We were in site 3 and needed an extra length of sewer hose. Depending on your rig you made need extra sewer or power cord extension. Each site has a fire ring. Restroom and shower are brand new so no issues there. There is a micro brewery right outside the entrance and a winery across the highway. If you forget your bike there is a bike rental shop just a short walk down the trail. As a bonus the campground also rents canoes, rafts and kayaks for float trip down the river. We paid $50/night for a weekend stay. If you like outdoor activities then this is a great place to stay.
