Salem Inn, MA

My family and I stayed in the Salem Inn a few years ago, about 6, there was one bedroom in our room, and a fold out couch in our living room. My sister and I stayed on the couch, while our parents stayed in the bedroom. We also had a kitchen. during the night my sister and I thought our parents were in the kitchen, clanging dishes, and turning the water on and off, using the appliances ( microwave and coffee pot) and flushing the toilet in the bathroom. We were up for a good part of the night, and thought our parents were too, but in the morning they swore they slept soundly. But who was in the kitchen? My sister and I were glad we only stayed one night. The weirdest thing is when we got home, our grandmother told us she saw a show about haunted inns and the one we stayed in was featured. Our parents still say they never heard anything.

Oh my gosh!! I wanted to cry when I saw this post. I thought I was crazy! I stayed in the Salem Inn with my son about 9 years ago. It has to be the same room. We had a kitchen, fold out couch in the living area and a separate bedroom. We got in late so we went straight to bed. I had been laying there about 15 minutes when closet door popped open. I thought that maybe I just didn't shut it --it was an old door. Then I started to feel like someone was bumping on the bed. I thought it might be my son who was in bed with me but it wasn't. I got up and looked around and stood near the window thinking that the wind might make the building shake. I went back to bed but it didn't stop. I was really spooked and almost grabbed my son and left but he was asleep and it was late and raining. I went to the living room and made out the fold out couch and moved my son with me. I turned on the TV convinced that my mind was playing tricks on me. I got up to use the bathroom and when I walked through the kitchen, the teapot on the stove started to rattle and shake. I ran back to the living area and turned the TV up really loud and told myself that if anything else happened we would leave. I put the pillow over my head and eventually went to sleep. I've thought about it all these years. I've tried to come up with logical reasons why all this occurred. Maybe the floor under the stove was bouncy but I know it wasn't because the next morning I jumped up and down in front of the stove and the teapot didn't budge. I'm so glad that someone else experienced this.
