Haunted Jefferson Inn

The Jefferson Inn in Jefferson, Texas is definately haunted. Although my friends stayed there one long weekend and experienced nothing, I lucked out in my one night stay there.
Driving from Colorado, I decided to head to Jefferson without stopping along the way. I'd called from the road and asked for a haunted room. As I entered the room, I told the ghost , "I'm exhausted from the long drive. If you want to haunt me, fine...if not, no problem."
Had dinner across the street then settled into the wonderful clawfoot tub. The mirror was steamed up and writing started slowly appearing. First word was "help". Then above that, the word "judy". Then finally, "redrum" on the bottom. Jumped out and got my camera and took several pictures.
I was skeptical about the word 'murder' written backwards.
However, the next morning, I fogged the mirror once again and no writing came up.
It's fortunate that I was too exhausted to be afraid. Slept like a baby. Want to go back !!

I live not far from Jefferson, you could say just around the corner. Your story is cool, and I would be skeptical of the word "murder" too...did you ask if this name (Judy) had anything to do with the hauntings that are known to be there? This would be my first question to the people who run the Hotel. I, and my team of investigators are going there in a couple weeks to check out the town, hopefully we will have something to report. Thanks for the story.

It's actually called the Jefferson Hotel, not to be confused with the Inn of Jefferson on the highway (it used to be a best western). And the words, "help Judy Redrum" are etched in the glass. Anyone can make them appear.

maybe it could be her last name Judy redrum, but it could be very possible muder spelt back words

I exprienced this too. It happened twice. It's not etched into the glass, but it may be an imprint left there from trauma. I check the surface very carefully. There also seems to be no chemical residue there. A prostitute was killed in the bathtub in that room, presumably Judy. I didn't like the feel of the room, and asked to be moved to another with my husband in tow. We bought a mirror from a local antique shop and pulled down the 'Judy' mirror to see if the same effect would repeat itself. Nothing happened.
We stayed in another haunted room the next night, and my husband had his leg 'felt up' and experienced a female whispering in his ear.
