For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: This is just an update, the office is getting some sort of update and the temp phone number is 334-318-8078.. I had to look around before I found this number after trying to call for 3 days and no answer.

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: It would have received a 4-5 stars BUT—their reservation system needs an overhaul! I made the reservation, paid, yet when I arrive there is someone in my spot—who is also assigned the same spot by the reservation people. Note: The office next to the camp is closed so if there is a problem you call the number listed and NO one answers. You leave a voice recording so they can call you back but THEY DON’T call. Only after 2 days did someone show up—and the did rectify it and let me park where I was. But the person in my original spot had one more show up for the same spot. So 3 RV’s were booked for the same spot. SEVERE MISMANAGEMENT by the civilians running the FAM camp.52s7ky

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: We stayed at Maxwell two years ago and we’re not impressed but this time it was green and mowed and clean. Very nice Fam camp now with huge play areas and big dog park. Close to Commissary too. Thanks for the improvements !

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: We really like the Fam Camp. It was quite full but we made a reservation 90 days ahead. Stayed for 3 days. Level concrete pads. Only problem was the ants. Next door neighbor had some Andro ant killer. Will come back.

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: We were excited when we pulled in and found our site right night to the bathrooms, but disappointed when we discovered those bathrooms were shut down because the deck is unsafe. So, we had to use the other bathrooms further away. Bathrooms were ok. No trees on our site. No covered area on our site. For $30 a night, I was a bit disappointed. When I called to reserve, I asked if they had dry camp, but was told none available. WI-FI was decent though, and commissary is not too far away.

For Maxwell-Gunter AFB FamCamp: My husband, toddler daughter, and I are staying here because our AC went out in our home. Fortunately there was availability, last minute, on a Friday! Pros: -Quiet and away from main base -Covered areas available for RV spots -Playground -Water access -Pet Friendly -Laundry facility Cons: -It's about a 25 minute drive to get off base -Not much shade available (trees) Overall, it's a nice place to stay if you're traveling. I don't think I would come here specifically, unless you are visiting Maxwell or Montgomery.
